Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Newport Infant School where we offer a warm, welcoming environment for children as they start their educational journey. We offer a safe, nurturing environment within which our children are offered a vibrant, engaging curriculum that promotes a love of learning which will last a lifetime.

As a bespoke Infant setting for children aged 4 to 7 we offer excellent early years practice that delivers outstanding results by our pupils year after year. Our superb team of teachers are passionate about children’s learning and their high expectations encourage our pupils to strive to be the best that they can be. Our broad, balanced, creatively designed curriculum encourages children to make links in their learning so that they can join up their knowledge and form the building blocks of their understanding of our world. Teaching and learning is based on a multi-sensory approach that engages all learners and promotes high levels of engagement for all.

We are proud of the range of experiences that we offer at our school in the arts, sport, modern languages and community links which enrich the curriculum offer. We strive to foster the skills and values that prepare our children for life in Modern Britain, supporting them to become respectful, tolerant citizens.

A focus on praise and making children feel positive and successful is driven by a range of rewards in school. We even have our very own superhero of learning who helps the children to understand how to grow as a learner.

We are committed to developing a working partnership with our families and ensuring the best outcomes for our children.

We hope that this website gives you a flavour of the pride that we have in our school and the offer that we make to our children and their families.
